CIV VI won't start at all

I finally bought the game today after waiting months to get it but when I try to play it all I get is a black screen for a few secs then FireAxis Crash Reporter pops up along with the typical
‘Sid Meier’s Civilization VI has stopped working’ then everything just closes to desktop.

I have spent hours looking for a solution. I have done the following:
Disabled Windows Defender and added exclusions anyway,
Restarted PC multiple times,
I ran the game in compatibility mode
and ran as administrator

Nothing has worked so far and I am sure my PC is more than capable of playing the game: Specs because I know someone will ask.
Processor: Intel i7 5820k
RAM: 32GB
GPU: Zotac GTX 1080Ti Amp! Extreme
PSU: EVGA 850W

I also am having this issue I bought the game yesterday and have done all the same things reinstalling directX and uninstalling and reinstalling the game with nothing working hope can get some help or a fix is released soon. I have similar specs to you and have been wanting to play the game for a really long time
 
You need to install last version of nvidia drivers 384.76. After this game works great for me. You should try it.

New drivers not working for me. Same behavior. Launch the game either dx11 or 12, doesn't matter, the game has a black screen and then the Firaxis crash thing pops up. Nothing seems to work and I don't know where the error logs are to troubleshoot. I even tried running them as administrator, no dice. Windows Defender is disabled.
 
I had this problem too. Nvidia has a hotfix 384.80 for the driver. Game now opens.
 
I have this exact issue now as well. I've exhausted everything on the first page of google with multiple different searches and still nothing, I'm trying the hotfix now but it says it is for watchdogs 2, but it's supposed to solve the same issue so we will see.

EDIT: It worked! For hours of scouring the internet and ncat solved my problem with the suggestion of the Nvidia hotfix. For those still struggling:

Eman is right. I don't like beta drivers side I researched this issue in lots of places. All had the same advice, get rid of the GeForce experience. When you look at it they are offering an opportunity to start your game from there. That means it must communicate with steam or your Civ installation. Not good. I got rid of it. When installing a new driver, just check custom, and uncheck the experience box. Did this right after posting above. Deleted experience and did clean install of driver. Works like a Roman legionary.
 
My game wouldn't start because it kept telling me DirectX11 wouldn't start. It would get as far as game creation but as soon as I hit start up would come the message. I tried all of the above and they made no difference either. In the end I disabled all the mods I had loaded and the game started. So I enabled them one at time until I discovered which mod was causing the problem. Now the game works. I won't say what mod it was because it might be different for different set ups. But it might be worth a try.
