Civ vs. Oriental Empires

I had never even heard of the game Oriental Empires until someone mentioned in the Civ versus Europa Universalis thread. It looks quite interesting and it's released Early Access today. If anyone has had a chance to play it and compare to Civ (I know Civ 6 isn't out yet, so maybe just Civ generally), I'd be curious to hear.
