Civ1 glitch

So I'm playing Civilization I for the DOS. And these past few days it occurs to me that whenever my city builds an improvement, the game freezes whenever I click the "change" button. I can't click anything and can only turn off my emulator. Has anyone ever had the same experience?

That's the "Instant Advice bug". Basically the game gets into a condition where recommendations become indeterminate and the game freezes waiting forever. The work around is to shut off Instant Advice, which is rarely useful anyway.
