Civ2 Technical Help

Hi All,

I'm posting this thread because I recently found a very strange bug while playing Civ2 MP game (TCP/IP) with my friend Morten Blaabjerg.

We have played both his scenarios "Hammer of the North" and "Armada" with the most recent updates.

The bugs showed itself when moving the sea units, and only for me who joined the game. Whenever a sea unit should move "south" it sometimes happended that it lost all its hitpoints. (not destroyed that way, but also not able to be repaired again.)

Has anyone experienced this? It's is very annoying, and I just hope that it is not my Civ2 that is going down.
 
I have just experienced it in MP (TCP/IP) and with Mortens two scenarios. Not in PBEM or SP.

If any of you try it out, plz. respond if you experience the same.
 
It looses hit points, because the move is reduced to a minimum as well. :(
 
It is very strange especially because it only happens sometimes, and only if the naval units are moving towards the south (sw,s,se,).

Only positive thing about this phenomenon is that if uncovered it maybe could be exploited in ways of scenario building. ;)
 
The shield placements should be okay. - maybe we should test this with other scenarios in mp and see if we can trace the origins of the bug.

I've never experienced the bug personally, it only appears to happen to BKA, when joining a game hosted by myself. This couldn't be some far out w98/xp divergence in communication within the game? AFAIK both versions of the game are the same.
 
OMG! :crazyeye: Weirdest bug I've ever heard of.. :hmm:
You should really try and see if it's the same in other scenarios.
