Hello.
Just tried to start the civ3 complete editor (and/or PTW editor) and they come up with multiple (20-30) errors around cannot open files in the art\units\palettes folder...pcx files not being found. "Check to make sure the editor is run from the folder where c3 was installed".

I just deinstalled and reinstalled civ3 complete and have the same problem. The editor comes up, but without the basic tiles. I can generate a map and the minimap shows land, but the main screen is all black except luxs/resources and marshes.

I can run games ok, just the editor has this issue. :hmm:

Thanks for your help.

ps...running windows98se on an old comp if that matters.

I spent some time reading in the graphics mods section since that deals with .pcx files and and sorta figured out a fix...but I'm still not sure why the problem occurred.

In answer to your question, I'm starting the editor from the folder where the .exe file is for that specific version. PTW editor and .exe are in the same directory. Conquests editor and .exe are in the same directory.

Either the search path for .pcx files of the editor isn't working properly or some .pcx files just didn't get copied into the correct art\ folder when I installed (and reinstalled) C3 complete. But all the .pcx files are in the base directory art\ folder where vanilla civ3 is located, so I solved the problem by writing down the list of error message files and then copying those specific .pcx files into the PTW art\ folder and C3C \art folder. The editor now pulls up all the terrain ok and I'll see if I run into any more problems.

One good thing came out of this...I decided to install Snoopy's graphics mod and I like the new look better than the plain graphics.

Thanks.
