Civ3 Complete - strange Knight attack sound...

My Knights when attacking sound like... well... strange... Like there is a normal sound but in the background there is some silly sound like a toy or a cartoon-like voice.

This happens always, not sometimes. Just every time they attack. Restarting game or my PC doesn't work. Changing hardware acceleration in Window's control panel etc. doesn't work either...

I also tried to find answer on the net - some people had similar problem but there was no way to solve this by that time...

I bought C3 Complete recenty, there is latest patch installed, and my OS i Windows XP and my sound card is SB Audigy ZS.

Can someone try to help me?

Did you uninstall your first version of Civ 3 before you installed Civ 3 Complete?

C3C is already patched. You don't need to try and patch it again.

Make sure the WinXP is fully patched, too.

One Easy Solution
I'm guessing, but what you may want to do is uninstall C3C (backup your saved games before you uninstall), defrag the hard drive, and then reinstall C3C. Not the best solution to your problem but it might work.

Another Solution, Not As Easy
Also, in the Customization section of the Civ 3 Forum, there are instructions on how to create your own units. One of those tutorials will tell you how to identify the audio file used by the Knights when they attack. If you can find that file (and make a backup copy) you could replace that audio file with another audio file and attempt to determine if the audio file is the problem.

YES, it really helped !!!

I did a defragmentation of my HDD and even without reinstalling C3C my Knight sound is totally normal now.
