Civ3 Conquests First Patch Thread

One other thing I just thought of while reading rozman's post...fighters should have ability to conduct air superiority missions over enemy cities/armies, or maybe an "escort bombers" mission. This way you could send your fighters to take out the enemy fighters before your bombers get there.
 
A REAL patch issue:

Make war weariness in multiplayer! It's in ptw 1.27, and if it isn't in the first conquests version, I'm gonna be somewhat mad. If it's not in any future patches I might actually have to PtW for multiplayer.
 
Spacedog: Conpletely agree with your last post.

RCP: Take average! New system messes up accidental use.

Barbarians (one of the biggest issues they might actually address in this patch): I once walked right by a stack of around 18 horseman, and 2 warriors (aften an uprising), to go attack an Egyptian city. With a heavy cavalry (5.2.2). If I had done that in PTW or Vanilla, that would not have happened. Also, the other thing they might fix is bombardment (see earlier post, I think it is on page one).

You can already do this. Just send your fighters to bomb the target before sending your bombers. Enemy fighters will try to attack your high defense strength fighters, and hopefully there will not be enough of them left to attack your bombers.

Does the fighter doing the bombing use its attack (4 according to the PTW units sheet) or defense (2) number when fighting the enemy fighters? Does the fighter on air superiority mission (i.e. Combat Air Patrol) use its attack or defense number? What is used to determine the probability of interception?
 
Interceptors use attack, attackers use defense. So the odds are again in favor of the defenders (I thought fighters had a higher defense for some reason), but at least fighters are cheaper than bombers.

There is no new palace wievs.There is no in PtW either.This is not a big mistake or missing but i am bored to see the same palace parts when my people love me.If they love me they can make new palace parts,aren't they...
 
thay need to

1, fix aaa animation

2, fix it so u can take damage from aaa insted of geting completly destroyed or a complet miss. the all or nothing thing sucks.

allso do this for aircraft that acaly get into battle plz

Well, OK. I was referring to the fact that the Wonder supplied only 3 happy faces in the city built. HO HUM! Regardless, of the real M of M, its effect in C3C has "small wonder" written all over it.
 
playshogi you can quote people by either
A) using the [ q u o t e ] quoted tex [ / q u o t e ] tags (just remove spaces, or hit the quote button on the topright of someones post to specifically quote them.

I also want helicopter rescue missions but I don't think that's happening :(
 
I could not seem to get my engineers to clean up pollution with any short cuts. I tried SHIFT P like in PTW and it did not work. Seen the new command was SHIFT C so tried that and no dice. I hate automating my workers so had little stacks of three and manually moved them all over my huge continent cleaning up pollution.

Probably just user error or overly useless Modern Paratroopers but the dozen I created all failed at their mission. Perhaps it was because I was trying to land them in a bombed out city.
 
You need to land Paratroopers in an unoccupied sqaure (no radar tower, no fort, no units, and no city. Road, irrigations, etc. are okay).
 
My rather fickle suggestion would be to offer various zoom levels. I *love* the look from far out, but its not too useable. A little closer in, would be heaven!
