Civ3 or civ4?

You can up the turns to 1000, as you've already discovered. Aside from that, no. And really, why would you want to play one game that long anyhow?

Well, why the heck not? Interestin' to see just how far ya can go, once in while, huh?

Hey, I just noticed that the first firearms don't have any sound effects... there's the splash of galleons and the rumble of wheels, but when that poor rifleman takes a shot - nothing!
Hmmmmmmm!

SOrry last thing, You can change the amout of turns at the start in the options file so it keeps score and charts your progress. Pressin the "gimme more turns! button does not.

This way the new number of turns (up to 1000) is shown where it usually is and is the official turn count for the game . ITs handy for games that add more techs to extend the epic (mods) ;)

I don't want to get off topic here, but that shouldn't be. There might be a problem with your sound files. I'm pretty sure every unit has a different sound effect. And I know riflemen and all the infantry have. One weird thing happened with me once though, cavalry didn't make a noise when they shot. But when I restarted the comp, it worked again.

They were in stealth mode? :D
