Hello, i'm not sure this is the right forum, because i dont know on what my problem depends on.
Its easy to explain:
A few day ago i reinstalled civ 3 on my mac because i lost the overviev(i tried much out). Then i added some units and played the game, but today i reached the industrial ages and then the game crashed. I tried it many times, but always the same. There is now Faultinfo. It happend on differet ways, but always the same turn.
Is that known?
I Have a intel MacMini with the Tiger(10.4.11) and the Basic Civ3, updated to 1.21

Sorry about my English, my Language is German.:mischief:

Maybe the reason are the new added units, but i really dont think so because i tried it now again less the added units, exept of one, wich i had fom the beginning.( The others should be from the industrial ages ad modern times.) At The Beginning of this Time it worked, but after ca. 3-4 turns it crashed again.
Once again i reinstalled it and used the "art" of the new, how i said, less the other units. But the same, but also later.
What shall i do?

When it crashes, do you get a Crash Report?

Clue: Open /Applications/Console and select ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/ in the left column. Look for Civilization III in the list.

If you find a crash report, copy and paste the first 100 lines or so here and we can see if anyone can guess what is failing.

Please note that version 1.21 stopped being supported by MacSoft a long time before your Mac was designed. It is also going to be difficult for anyone else to test, reproduce and diagnose your problem here, because of your mods.

No, i didnt got any crash report, it just brought me back to the desktop.

Before the Game runned, the Problem is not my Computer...
I have many logs, here i one around that time:

I hope it will help anybody:

This indicates that your computer *did* write a crash log for Civ3. You should be able to find it under the CrashReporter log in Console, or look for it in /Users/DAVE/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/

Difficult to interpret, as it's using Rosetta to run PPC code on an Intel CPU.

My guess is that it is having trouble with a sound file. Have you created a custom sound effect? If so, try removing it, or running with sound turned off to see if that changes things.

That is possible, because i downloaded a unit wich has no sound so i paste a sound from another unit to it...i will try to run i less sound...

No, i dont think it depends on the sound, i tried it and it crashed again...it crashed as i choose the research advisor...Is there nothing about that?

Maybe i can upload the civmod.bic?

Ok, maybe that wasnt the right crash log, because i have it twice installed and im am swirling armound between them, also, to get the reason for this problem. I changed now some things with them, and now it crashes from the beginning of the game. I upload the new crash log. Maybe there is the reason, but, now its not at the research advisor, its directly after loading it, without sound.

But im sure its a problem with the industrial ages, i loaded a older save in the middleages(the same game and civ and mod), and ther it works.

Well, the crash log still shows details of sound routines running. There were 6 application threads running at the time of the crash:

Thread 0 was running in the CoreAudio framework
Thread 1 was running the CarbonCore framework
Thread 2 is the one that crashed, and was in unknown code
Thread 3 was in a Quicktime scheduler
Thread 4 was running an MP3 Audio codec
Thread 5 was in CoreAudio

So sound was definitely running, and may well be responsible for the crash.

I dont know, but i tried it out again and i switched the mai sound off, butt still the same!

I don't think I could help. I can't run Civ3 1.21g on my Mac any more, because I upgraded to Leopard and it isn't compatible.

Maybe someone else could look at it?
