Civ4 and language selection

Ok, a silly little question here.

I'm currently living in Poland and want to go out and buy Civ4. The problem is that the package says "Polish version" and none of the local staff knows anything.

Now, the general English version gives you a choices of languages (as I understand it), but does anyone have experience with these "other" versions that are advertised in the local language and know if it is possible to install it in English or if it's only possible in Polish/Russian/Bulgarian/Czech etc?

One thing that's worth trying is installing it, and then opening up the Civ4.ini config file. You'll find a line in there labelled "language", and a list of the possible languages it can be set to. If English is listed there, just change "language = ?" to the appropriate number and the game should be in English. If it isn't listed it may not be possible.

True, I'd just prefer to find out before buying it and then having to learn the Polish equivalent of every single word in the game
