Picked up CivCity Rome at Gamestop yesterday. Had a few bugs and it seems there are no active support sites yet so I thought I'd start a thread where we can compare.
First: I had trouble getting started but "debugged" myself.( um my game)
Apparently the Window's "Data Execution Prevention" feature was preventing both CivCity and Game Shadow from working. As an added bonus my AlienAutopsy program ( a bug solving tool ) could not understand this error and was preventing the Data Execution pop-up boxes from appearing.

I clicked the change settings box then filled in the check box for CivCity and the game worked fine. My question is: why is CivCity trying to run code from a protected location?

Second: the Tarantum scenario apparently needs me to create wheat farms but alas the icon to create them is missing. I've got a mill and bakery but no way to get them wheat. It seems possible to sell enough wine and stone but I don't think I can upgrade my housing enough to win.

Seems like a fun city sim just needs some patches.

you would need to trade with other cities to get the wheat

I have this game since last year. Trust me, I didn't encountered bugs like that.

I agree with churchill.

I agree that the wheat problem is not a bug -- but the other issue occurred so while it may be set up specific, it was a problem and I posted it just to help out anyone who might have had the same issue.

I have had no problems since the patch. :)

I got through the Tarantum mission without trouble, but the Cyrene mission (the first military mission you're given the option of choosing) was uncompleteable. There was no source of wheat. Wheat farms were unbuildable, and both types of trade buildings had no resources to trade in either direction; they're blank. I even conquered the garrison that's sending attack waves at you in the hope that would open up trade options to that place, but no, nothing. :(
Fortunately there was still the option to go back and pick the non-military mission choice. I completed that, and was given another opportunity to pick the military mission. It's still the same Cyrene map, and there's still no trade options in the trade buildings. >.<

Anyone have this bug before? Anyone fix it or find some workaround?

EDIT: Found the answer. I hadn't realized how big the region map was. WAAAAAY across the ocean is another city that will trade. >.<
