Picked up CivCity Rome at Gamestop yesterday. Had a few bugs and it seems there are no active support sites yet so I thought I'd start a thread where we can compare.
First: I had trouble getting started but "debugged" myself.
confused: um my game)
Apparently the Window's "Data Execution Prevention" feature was preventing both CivCity and Game Shadow from working. As an added bonus my AlienAutopsy program ( a bug solving tool ) could not understand this error and was preventing the Data Execution pop-up boxes from appearing.
I clicked the change settings box then filled in the check box for CivCity and the game worked fine. My question is: why is CivCity trying to run code from a protected location?
Second: the Tarantum scenario apparently needs me to create wheat farms but alas the icon to create them is missing. I've got a mill and bakery but no way to get them wheat. It seems possible to sell enough wine and stone but I don't think I can upgrade my housing enough to win.
Seems like a fun city sim just needs some patches.
