I was wondering if anyone has done a webpage with the full civilopedia on it. The purpose of it is to make it easily searchable (through your browser's "find on this page" function in the 'Edit' menu) when you're not playing the game (i.e., you want to reference something when you're in the forum). I have started doing in this and was wondering if anyone would find it useful. Here's the link......

Conquests' Civilopedia in HTML

EDIT: In case anyone is wondering, the webpage is moving to a new location. The link above is updated. Thanks to watorrey for hosting it until I find it a new home.

Great work :D
Though I can see it's not finished yet.
Anyway, I won't be using it mainly because I usually have the game running while being on CFC :)

Well I've completed the 'Game Concepts' section of the civilopedia. A small section in a looooooooooong text.

GI Dustin made an HTML converter that was fantastic. IF you go to his website, you can see, the html civilopedia also uses small icons, and he did it for every mod and scenario posted.

I don't know, you would probably have to email him and ask for it, I am quite impressed by the seeming compatibility of it with the civilopedia.

Just to update, GI Dustin does have this but is tinkering with it and might post it on CFC when it's done.

OK, i didn't know anyone was interested (esp. with a better tool out there) but I'll keep working on it.

Before this thread came up I was going to make my own Civilopedia Site, but I guess the job has been taken. Oh well. Again, good work!

This site is almost complete. Only three more sections remain. They are....

1) Units
2) Index
3) Feedback form

Whew! This has been tedious. Never realized how obtuse HTML can be! :D

This is done!

Although I decided to use this forum for feedback rather than using a form. There's a link to it on the website..... Anyway, this is done!

Thanks man

I couldn't get it to work - it loaded, but the # tags didn't do anything - the 'pedia was there but wouldn't go to the appropriate link, just stuck at the top.

Also, you might want to put in the shield costs for various things - like the thing I was looking for, was the SoZ cost. I'm pretty sure it's in the regular 'pedia ...

edit: More specifically, it doesn't work in Mozilla Firefox 1.0 ... I don't see anything in the source that shouldn't be compatible, no iFrames or anything IE specific (well, that wasn't in mozilla before anyway - who knows what's in firefox, i haven't taken the time to look that thoroughly) - but you're using pretty basic stuff. I dunno why it wouldn't work ... but it doesn't.

Either way, nice job, even if some browsers won't do it right :)

I'll look into getting it to work in other browser. I had the same problem using Opera.

As for the shield costs, they are not there in the civilopedia text file even though they are there in civilopedia as you play the game. These stats depend on the rules (custom or original) and I believe are saved in the biq files. For this information, I suggest using the Civ3C3Cdata.pdf file.
