Civilopedia not working

Anyone know why the Civilopedia does not work in Civ II, playing on mac with system 10.2, in Classic mode? The Topics screen shows up for a split second then disappears? Is there any info in the Civilopedia that I cannot find somewhere else?

Very little Mac experience here. The Civilopedia is a separate "subprogram" from the main game in the PC version; I've seen "hiccups" when it loads in Win98 if resources are low. As to the info therein, you can find all the data elsewhere but have you gathered it already? Key topics are the tech prereqs, the tech links to wonders, improvements and units, and the terrain change details. A good tech chart and one of the downloadable terrain lists should get you most of that.
