Not intended by VP. It may be inteded by the map script (and number of civ) you are using.

How do I figure out what mapscript I have ?I just use the normal continents on set up game,is there a problem with the modpack maybe ?

The mapscript is the map type you use (in your case continents). I noticed this as well recently, civs spawn really close to each and have almost no room to expand on a normal continents map. I wondered if I've just gotten too used to Communitas and went back to that maptype. Civs seems to spawn normally in Communitas from my observation. It's either me being not used to Continents or something went wrong between that mapscript and VP.

how do I use the communitas map? Is it like a different map mode just like continents?

ok I got communitas map and did a standard size and this is what I get.Idk I think it is like super close or maybe that is me

From that screenshot those Capitals don't look unusually close. From what I've seen most map scripts try to evenly spread starting locations from each other, but each Civ's Starting Bias can throw this off. If you have a map with relatively little jungle terrain, and 3 Civs that all have a "Jungle" starting bias then they could all start jammed up together around the same jungle-heavy part of the map. This is one of the reasons I like playing using the Communitas map script, as it tends to generate numerous pockets of jungle/forest/desert/mountains so that starting bias doesn't force Civs to start right next to each other. Even so, every so often I will still see two Capitals within 6 tiles of each other. It's rare, but it happens. I'd rather that then the alternative, though. The game is very boring to me if I have plenty of space around me to expand and settle cities. It's why I have a love/hate relationship with Polynesia. Their UA is a blessing and curse for me, because I know I can always run off into the ocean and mass-settle island cities right from the start. I always tend to over-expand whenever I play as them.

If you want to have lots of room to expand in communitas, try to change the "rifts" into 1 random, or none.
In non-communitas map, lowering the sea level could help.

Having lots of room to expand is better for the AI, so watch out if they overexpand, and became extremely powerful.

EDIT: Overexpanding as human should be careful, or you'll get lot of unhappiness and may cause the downfall of your empire.
And that doesn't seems really close.

If you want more room to expand:

1) Set sea level to low.
2) If your map script allows island settings, choose "few islands" or the equivalent. This is because for a given amount of land tiles, with few islands you'll mechanically have larger continents. On Communitas, this can be done by choosing Atlantic oceans only: Pacific oceans come with archipelagos or even Australia-like landmasses, while Atlantics are mostly empty.
