CivStats.com - View your Pitboss games on the web

Excellent suggestions, I will definitely add them to my list. Several of them are already planned for actually! The only one on that list that MIGHT be impossible is the IP address display. I would like to get this to help detect cheating, so I will look in to it.

The force-advance turns thing is something I never thought of. That's actually something I can probably implement. :D

I would like it to be possible to sort out so you have a long list over scorechanges and timestamps on those for all scores that aren't in turns so you can easier track who traded what with who and who founded how many cities when. Right now it is a real hassle to figure that out as you basically have to save the queue daily since it always falls out of the screen. Using civstats more of a track tool :p.

@Oyzar, You can click on any person's name and only get the scores for that person...

@OUT, maybe it should be possible to
1) List scores for multiple persons
2) Increase the list of entries > 100 (IIRC that is the current limit)

namliaM i know, however that doesnt show trading too well... the point was to filter out scores that is the same time as the turnover and any logins and logouts, filtering now still only show those entries among the last 100 anyways so it is rarly usefull. Filtering should show the last 100 of the current fields otherwise it is kinda useless :S. Anyways civstats is great. Keep up the good work.

I really like that idea about adding the ability to force a player to end his turn. Actually, to take that idea one step further, it'd be really helpful if we could put a player on "Autopilot", where queued actions are done and automatically end the player's turn. Diplomacy could be more or less ignored, and things just "stay the course". Of course, it wouldn't be very helpful for players at war. :P

A mode like that would be great for people who will be away from the game for a day or two and it would still allow the other players to take their turns without having to wait for the away player to time out.

Hi all,

From reading this thread and looking at the games list at civstats.com, it seems no one is experiencing problems with civstats.com and the uploader. This makes my own experience puzzling. We've been running pitboss for a few weeks, and recently started using the uploader and civstats.com. The problems we're having are: the log has erroneous entries, the date is wrong (says 0AD) and we're not getting any email notifications. We deleted and restarted the game at civstats a few days ago, the same thing is happening. (http://www.civstats.com/viewgame.php?gameid=608)

The router and firewall have ports 2056 and 80 open. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Aaron

atreides088 - What version of Civ are you using? Is it Warlords? Also, are you using a turn timer?

Try this version of the uploader: Version 1.0.0.1

I believe there is a problem with the latest version of the uploader when using Vanilla or Warlords with no turn timer. Going back to the previous version should fix the problem.

I really want to get the problem fixed in the latest version but I was just moved to a very busy project at work and I've been way too busy. It ends this week though so hopefully a new version will be out soon.

Thought I should mention that the erroneous "finished turn" events do _not_ only occur when the uploader is restarted. For example, i just took a turn and a new year began. After this the log states that i took another turn, another human player who wasn't logged in took a turn, along with the AI's who took turns.

However, there also seems to be an erroneous "finished turn" event for a player whose turn it is (i.e. no asterisk by his name) when the uploader is restarted.

The only thing I can think of is if your game is not using simultaneous turns. The way you said "whose turn it is" makes it sound like you are using sequential turns, but earlier you said that you are using simultaneous. Are you sure you're on simultaneous?

Simultaneous turns were checked during startup, I believe, and I can see that they are currently checked on civstats. I'm not sure how to tell whether turns are simultaneous or sequential while playing the game, but there does always seem to be the same turn order, so maybe turns are being played sequentially.

There is no such thing as a "turn order" with simultaneous turns. When a new turn begins, anyone can log in at any time during the turn timer and take their turns, even at the same time. So if you are seeing a turn order at all, then you're not using simultaneous.

Civstats does not support non-simultaneous at this time, mainly because I didn't think anyone would use it because it kind of defeats the purpose of Pitboss over PBEM.

If you're still taking requests for the new version, a way to reset the pitboss timer (if this is possible) would be great. Sometimes I have an outage or something and I'd like to set the clock back in those situations.

Dear OverloadUt,

We have gone back to Version 1.0.0.1 and most things work as we expect,
thank you. We are running Warlords without turn timer.

But where did the graph go?
