CivWin crashes during computer turns!

Hi! As the title says I have a frustrating problem. I play CivWin on a VMware workstation with winxp guest on it under a win7 host. RAM on the guest is set to ~2.4GB (of three) and it runs on all CPU cores (eight).

After many hours and late nights I ran into the problem described in the title. I end my turn, computer moves one or two units and then the game gets stuck with the in-game hour-glass pointer and the game stops responding, seemingly indefinitely.

What I've tried
* Turning off all settings, including sound, animations, enemy moves, etc.
* Changing computer course of action by declaring war, killing units, deleting my own units (to make myself diplomatically unavailable) etc.
* Check for buildings being finished in my cities if it's the "entering" into my turn that causes it. Also made sure tech didn't finish and taxes were not reaching zero.
* Experimenting with different winxp compatibility settings.
* Reinstalled the game.

I'm open to perhaps converting the sav-file to DOS-version ones, or any other versions/remakes of the game.

I also wonder where I can find the latest version of CivWin, or a patch, and where one can see what version number my current installation has.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Ps. Here is a link to the sav-file, just put it in the game folder for testing. You need to end turn twice. I'd be happy if anyone could load it to at least verify that it freezes on your setup too and not only mine.

This SAV file also crashed my CivWin (version 1.2.0). Since the hundreds of games I played on it never had this issue, I'd say there's probably something wrong with this particular SAV.
Did you try starting a new game to see if the problem happens there as well?

You can check your CiVWin version on Help -> About.

Here's the update to version 1.2.0, in case you need it:

I didn't dare start a new game in case it would crash too. I tried to upgrade the game and ran the sav-file just in case, but to no avail. I guess I'll have to start a new one anyway and hope for the best. Thank you your reply!
