I didn't even know this existed until I stumbled across it just now. It seems to serve little purpose, so I'm not too disappointed I didn't see it earlier. Pressing ctrl-shift-n brings up the "Clean Map Preferences" dialogue. I tinkered around with it a bit. The problem is, now I can't seem to get back the city names under the cities (including population, production, and growth numbers)! Does anyone know what I'm talking about and how to fix it? Thanks!

I usually leave the cultural borders on so it's easier to tell what civ a resource in the middle of a desert or jungle belongs to.
ctrl-shift-m will get you back to the original, complete map AFIK. Is that what you mean?

Yes, thank you wilbill! As long as we're on the topic, any other useful shortcuts?
