Closed polls

Is it the intention to keep all closed polls "hanging around" or is the intention to create an overview topic per category with all poll results in that category?

Closed polls aren't deleted, because we often want to refer back to them. A lot of the time, the results are reflected back to the originating discussion thread, the instruction thread, or a legal repository, depending on what kind of poll it is.

Wouldn't it be more efficient to gather poll results in a single topic though, of course without deleting the old polls. For looking up (multiple) poll outcomes it might be easier.

We used to have threads like that, called Index Threads.
