Renamed in honor of the pub in The Quiet Man.

We have a derth of organization in this civilization. Since we are in need of some refinement, I am hearby founding The Grey Hare, a public house specializing in Fine Spirits and Food, good conversation, and spirited music :band: It is most appropriate that our first institution be a drinking establishment

Let me introduce myself. My name is Bugsy, or Bugs. Please do not add any titles to my name. I am a full time engineer, part time musician and now part time publician. If any one can help make the last two jobs full time I would be grateful.

Some pub rules:

1. Be courteous to your fellow pub goers.
2. If you drink too much, don't drive, I can put you up for the night. We have a few rooms upstairs. And no they aren't available for that. This is a respectable establishment.
3. Lively discussion on any topic is allowed and encouraged.
4. Don't be boarish. I don't want to have to have Guido escort you to the door.
5. If you need to fight, take it outside.
6. Friday is open mic night. You can have the microphone for five minutes. You can share poems, lyrics, music or a story. After five minutes we cut you off, unless it is really good.
7. We will honor the Sabbath. Therefore, only wine will be served on Sunday.

We have some musicians for the Friday Night House Band, :band: namely Daghie and myself, but we could use some others. You don't need to be good, I'm not. You just need to have tolerance for lousy music and a good sense of humor.

We also have an opening for another bartender.

And with that, let the party begin.

A wonderful idea Bugs. I'll bring my bodhran drum and we'll have sessions every friday. Don't forget to pour the Guinness slowly.
I'll stick with a lager. Harp is preferred. I'll bring my restrung mandolin. A fiddle is too hard for me.

As I was a goin' over the far famed Kerry mountains
I met with Captain Farrell and his money he was counting
I first produced my pistol and I then produced my rapier
Saying "Stand and deliver" for he were a bold deceiver

Chorus:
Mush-a ring dum-a do dum-a da
Wack fall the daddy-o, wack fall the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar

I counted out his money and it made a pretty penny
I put it in me pocket and I took it home to Jenny
She sighed and she swore that she never would deceive me
But the devil take the women for they never can be easy

(Chorus)

I went up to my chamber, all for to take a slumber
I dreamt of gold and jewels and for sure 't was no wonder
But Jenny blew me charges and she filled them up with water
Then sent for Captain Farrell to be ready for the slaughter

(Chorus)

't was early in the morning, just before I rose to travel
Up comes a band of footmen and likewise captain Farrell
I first produced me pistol for she stole away me rapier
I couldn't shoot the water, so a prisoner I was taken

(Chorus)

Now there's some take delight in the carriages a rolling
and others take delight in the hurling and the bowling
but I take delight in the juice of the barley
and courting pretty fair maids in the morning bright and early

(Chorus)

If anyone can aid me 't is my brother in the army
If I can find his station in Cork or in Killarney
And if he'll go with me, we'll go rovin' through Killkenny
And I'm sure he'll treat me better than my own a-sporting Jenny

(Chorus)

It was the only decent song on the jukebox in the pub where I started drinking. The opening guitar riff is something special.

I was just cruising through the UN polls, sticking my tongue out at Tubby :p , and doing other mean and nasty thing, when I saw several players for the last game that still had our motto in their sig. For the record, I was on K.I.S.S and we all put "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups" in our sig. We swiped it off one of those despair.com posters.

We need to come up with something similar for this team.

I understand we have some new citizens. Someone direct them to the pub and we'll have a welcoming party.

We'll bring in the band :band: Let Daghie belt out some songs. Sell all pints for $0.05 (also known as Nickel Beer Night) and have a good time before the game starts in earnest.

Hey, I found something at nostalgia central that could work as our motto:

Team GONG: Scraping The Bottom Of The Barrel
If we end up Ottomans I suggest we name our capital Istanbul (not Constantinople) based on the song with the same name by They Might Be Giants.
Spoiler :
Istanbul (Not Constantinople)
"Istanbul" 1953

Words by Jimmy Kennedy
Music by Nat Simon

"It's Istanbul, not Constantinople now ...." Leave it to Tin Pan Alley to turn centuries of ethnic and religious struggles into a catchy ditty. This song, although copyrighted by Kennedy and Simon, is a direct descendant of the humourous piece, "Al-Bar the Bubul Emir" that could be found in the pages of "Captain Billy's Whizbang," an early 20th century precursor to "Mad Magazine."

Lyrics:

Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night

Every gal in Constantinople
Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople
So if you've a date in Constantinople
She'll be waiting in Istanbul

Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way

So take me back to Constantinople
No, you can't go back to Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works
That's nobody's business but the Turks

Istanbul (Istanbul)
Istanbul (Istanbul)

Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way

Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works
That's nobody's business but the Turks

So take me back to Constantinople
No, you can't go back to Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works
That's nobody's business but the Turks

Istanbul

Side note: With Killercane in the ranks this starts to look like a rather deadly team IMHO :hammer:

Nice idea, and the pub looks good  somone pour me a pint!

As for sig i sugest: "We are not retreating...we are attacking in another direction".

PS: Put some babes serving the drinks he he.

How 'bout Get it On by T-Rex

Well you're dirty and sweet
Clad in Black
Don't look back
And I love you
You're dirty and sweet oh yea.

Well you're slim and you're weak
You got the teeth
Of the Hydra upon you.
You're dirty sweet
And you're my girl.

Get It On
Bang a gong
Get It On

You're built like a car
You got a hubcap
Diamond star halo
You're built like a car
Oh yea.

You're an untamed youth
That's the truth
With your cloak full of eagles
You're dirty sweet
And you're my girl

Well you're windy and wild
You got the blues
I'm your shoes and your stockings.
You're windy and wild
Oh yeah.

You're built like a car
You got a hubcap
Diamond star halo
You're built like a car
Oh yea.

Or if all else fails, Guns N Roses, Welcome to the Jungle (esp if we are near (THE) jungle) :p ;)

I like the Mad Man's motto. It comes from that T-Rex song.

"bang a gong, get it on, bang a gong."

Daghie - excellent management decision hiring that young lady.

Here's Guido, our bouncer:
