Coldplay Lyrics - Deja Vu?

I could swear I've heard lyrics like this before. I don't mean it in an accusatory way, more that I wonder if the lyrics are kind of a tribute/homage to another song...

Am I crazy, or are they familiar? Especially the "I'm gonna" parts...

Maybe someone with more music knowledge can help me. This has been bugging me ever since I bought the CD.

I got that same vibe too when I bought their CD. Kinda depressing, eh?

It didn't really depress me. Firstly I loved the song, its my favorite (well maybe Politik is better). And I didn't get the feeling that they were stealing lyrics, I just seem to remember the "I'm gonna buy a..." theme from somewhere else, and they were paying homage to it...

What sucks is I know I'll never figure it out unless someone tells me. Its not on the tip of my tongue...

Whoa those lyrics suck. Coldplay might be the worst mainstream band I've ever heard. They suck even more than Radiohead.

I like that song, but I haven't listened to Coldplay for some time.

I don't recognise the last two, but the first aren't unfamiliar.

I think Radiohead is anything but mainstream and anything but sucks, but OK...

Hmm...none of those are familar to me Funxus.
