So far, a wary silence greets our emmisaries. Fear us or ally with us - but ignore us at your peril!
Our Dutch and English friends might be interested to know we have many fine furs to trade. We hear London and Den Haag - your greatest lodges - are anxious for these commodities. We also have much of the burning weed you call "Tobacco". For money, or other considerations, we could make these furs over to you for transport in your white-winged canoes over the Great Eastern Sea.
We also have the secrets of getting abundant food from the great forests. Perhaps some of our knowledge could be traded for yours....Our wise men await in a secret corner of the forest (netdesign@zoom.co.uk)

I haven't heard from DOF for some time now. 
Unfortunately I don't have the time to take over the player, but I can do one turn to keep the game going while you guys look for someone else. I won't be home for about 12 hrs though, so if you find someone else first, let them take it.

As for DoF, he kinda disappeared in ZWK 3 too. Unless someone else has asked for it, I could do the French and the Sioux if he doesn't come back. I would try and be objective so that the two civs don't work for each other, of course.
Yes, but that was because he was in the hospital for a month with a couple of broken bones and a concusion after having a 'run-in' with a car during a bike ride. I hope that is not the case this time.

He didn't tell anyone while he was in the hospital, but once he came back, he told us in Site Feedback.
Apparently Ohwell knew but didn't tell anyone either.
It also sounds like early on in the Civ II Democarcy Game DOF went on vacation for a week but forgot to tell anyone.

Can you give me some good examples? I should have thought the race was to the swift almost by definition. Same for battles, mostly. Anyway, just teasing you really - I'm always up for an irrelevant argument!

Thanks, Duck. I'll have a look for a "French player", but I suggest everyone else does too. It would be a shame for this to stop so early. The AI could always play the French, but it would be neat to play Colonies with 7 humans. Never done it before....
