Combining RTW with WoC?

Didn't find anything too-specific to this in other threads, so I'll just ask: Will there be a way to run a (presumably non-WoC) mod such as "Road To War" along with various WoC mods? I am just getting my feet wet with modding RTW, but, rather than learning how to reinvent the wheel, I am hoping that WoC will allow for this kind of flexibility? Given how specialized RTW is it may not even be realistic, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

You could combine regular modular mods with WoC easily, non-modular take somewhat more effort, but mods with a custom dll wil require the custom dll changes to be incorporated into the WoC dll, so that will not be easy.

As RtW has its custom dll, merging its changes into the WoC dll will require the most effort imo.

So it sounds like the route that I am currently taking, of modifying the RTW mod directly, is likely to be the easier/more-effective route at this point? I am currently making sense of the XML modifications but beyond that it will be a challenge.

Depends on what your goal actually is. If it is 'just' to get some of the WoC modules to work in RtW as well (as one big mod, no pluggability), then yes, adding them to the RtW xml is the way to go.

If you want to create a WoC'ed version of RtW so it can plug and play with WoC modules, then I would take a different route.

I think essentially my goal is to just get some other mods/features/units to work with RTW. RTW being an historically-specific mod, it seems likely that many plug/play mods wouldn't be relevant anyway. Specifically I am interested in adapting Inquisitions to work in RTW for an ideological (religious) victory condition, allowing purges of rival ideologies by 'inquisitors' (i.e., gestapo/cia/kgb).

Adding RTW to WoC would presumably achieve other general goals, namely being able to easily turn on/off various components (e.g. stack attack) or to add generalized features (e.g. pillage route or icebreaker). But that kind of mod-merger is likely beyond my level of expertise (actually, my specific modding of RTW may well be beyond my level of expertise also, but we shall see!).
