Compatibility with Vanilla?

Hello. I own the most updated version of BtS. I was wondering... is there any possible way that I can play online with my friend who owns only Vanilla Civ?

You will have to play your Vanilla which will be patched to 1.74 as you have BTS.

Your friend will have to make sure his Vanilla is patched to 1.74.
