This recently started (yesterday) happening most of the time when I start my computer. I have Windows Me and haven't had any major problems with it for the almost 2 years that I have owned my machine. 384 MG RAM; 20 GB HD; 800 MHz.

Two things that may or may not be relevant:

1) I deleted Xupiter Toolbar after finding it on my machine; using some very good instructions on removing it. The problem started shortly after doing this.

2) The hard drive area has been making some Hamster Squeaky Wheel noises, which I have been told is either a: the HD or b: the Fan. This has been ongoing for a short while.

I'd call the support, that is if I had support on it.:( I take it you can't start it, so I would've brought it to a computer store and ask them what's the problem and pay them to fix it if it's needed. Especially since the HD makes strange noises. Maybe someone you know know what the problem is and can help you fix it?

Do you get any more info on the "computer error" - ie the thing that generates it?

You can probably look up that code on a vendor website. Thew code number you provided doesn't look like a windows one, so it may actually be the hardware. If you think that your HDD is on the way out, then if you can confirm that, you might want to install a new one, and copy your primary one over to it while you still can.... Or at least back up the data files you need to CD.
