A Simple request: The option to add a certain number of buildings/improvements into the city view was already available when civIII was initially released, but apparently it was decided to leave that out in the last minute: Some files are still there:

Additional buildings;
Monuments one;
Swon Monuments;

Please give modders the possibility and data required to enhance the gaming experience by adding building into the city area view window!

Comment: There should be no problem when adding wonders and Small Wonders that only appear once per game or per civilization, as every single of these would only use a specific tile. The looks could easily be made culture-specific too. As I said: All the files are already there as they shipped with Civ3- please let us use them...

....and I just realized I am in the wrong forum *sigh*

Moderator Action: No problem, I just moved all your "Request" threads. ;) --Padma

i certanly will like a better city view, there is only one avenue, were is the people, the road connections, for a city of 3 000,000 people it look pretty empty, were are they living... underground? And your idea of city improvements like air port to to be out the city tile is just great.

Well the thing is that Firaxis wanted to make everything "easy" to mod when they made the game. Everything is already there- but they didn't give us the means or the explanation of really modding certain things (given the bugs the game had when it shipped and the problems of players -not even modders- to cope with civ3 at first it is somewhat understandable).

But I think the time is ripe to give out some info and new modding traits for us- including the city view

W.i.n.t.e.r, it is pretty much inevitable that in C3C city-view buildings will be de-harcoded. IIRC, they've added new buildings and wonders, although whether or not to the main game remains to be seen.

It's possible to improve the city view screen so that it looks more populated by downloading a file located at GIDustin's Website, it won't allow you to add other images for city improvements though.

How so? If they didn't 'de-hardcode' the city-view buildings in PTW (or Civ3 for that matter) why would they do so in Conquests? Unless, of course the developers actually pay attention to these threads (ha).

I wouldn't get your hopes up... If you'll notice, in all of the Conquests screenshots of the city interface, the 'view city' button is missing...
