Once I was a big fish, but then I stumbled into this larger lake and have found that I am not so big after all.

Oh wise and awsome players of CIV II. This may be a silly question but here goes....
When do I save my last turn for submission? Just before I take the last pathetic city, just after or when I start that turn?

Let's suppose you're ready to subvert or walk into or destroy the last AI City. That's when to save.

First, I do something with my Settlers if I'm so inclined. Then, to be kind to The Duke, a touch S on all my other units, so if I touch W it's only that last Diplomat or Unit. Change to 100% Luxuries, and Save.

It's best to also have Saves at 1AD and 1000AD or thereabouts, and zip it all and send it to The Duke, DoM@Civfanatics.net , sometime on or before the 5th day of each month. Welcome!

only the score before taking the last city is used.No conquest bonus.Make sure to include that score as the bonus score is useless for this.

Might as well jack your luxuries to the max.A step farther-you may be able to squeeze an extra happy citizen or 2 by moving workers to water.

Really Smash! I thought one gotm, the last city had a wonder in it, and I was given credit for that. I think so.

garvarg, two more things. I have learned a huge amount by searching this site. That apolyton link above, I found here at CFC. The other thing: when you submit your saves, there is a particular way CFC would like you to name them, before you zip them. It is described nearby, along with the gotm rules and submission etc.

I've still got a lot of reading and learning to do as I travel through all the threads other people have posted.

GaryNemo - thanks for the settler/engineer link! I had seen that once before but could not find it again!

No conquest bonus? So thats why so many people try for spaceship, or earyl-finish bonus?
