Constant crashing on reloads

Still trying to make it thru my first walk-around game ... but at this point, every time I try to reload the game from in the game, it crashes.

Running CIV 5 on 2 Dual Xeons (16 total cores), Supermicro X8DAL, 12 Gig Ram, ATI HD5800, HDMI to Vizio 32" LCD TV, Win 7 x64.

Also, the game is REALLY slow to save and to load. Given my specs, something is wrong.

I have the same problem. it constantly crashes on reloading games. it even crashes if i exit to the menu and try it from there.

This happens (at least for me) since yesterday's patch.

Using steam's revalidation of the integrity of the game cache showed a defect file, but it didn't help.

edit:
I've just figured out that savegames from other games still work fine. Somehow the game state must got corrupted .

I'm kinda having the same problem. If I boot up the game and load, it works fine. But if I ever try to load again without exiting the game completely (exiting to the menu doesn't matter), it crashes to desktop. Pretty annoying seeing as it takes 5+ minutes to get back in from there.

We've identified what this is, and are working to fix it for the next hot-fix.
