I think it is important that we have this in the constitution, because we do need to have means for expulsion of a team member should they give away sensitive infomation. The issue is, what can be classified as sensitive infomation? If we have it our constitution, then we know what are our boundaries when we are outside of this team.

I don't think we have the authority to expell a team member; I think only the admins can do that, and there's a already a provision in there (0.4) that says espionage is grounds for ejection. If someone gives classified information its like a mole in 0.4.2; the admins will ject them; not us.

Could you link to a reference for this? I can't seem to find anything about it.

If that's true, then all we'd need to do is establish a procedure for referring someone to the admins for expulsion.

putting this in the constitution would be great
things like military positions, city production, city production plans(what we plan to produce) tech plans, plans for attack, spying, sabotage, our sliders settings, our resources (if they don't already know) our city's status (happy citizens and what not)

tech plans, any military information(spying and sabotage included, and production in general should be kept under heavy wraps

Basically what i want is a set of rules or guidelines that gives us a clear definition of what are means for us to ask for expulsion of a team member. The Game rules are vague. We need to make it 100% clear what is breaking the rules for our team.

0.4 - Out-of-Game Espionage

0.4.1 - Inadvertent or Accidental Espionage

Description/Procedures: An accidental viewing of a private or secure area due to a security hole or other bug/glitch in any software should not be considered a deliberate act of espionage provided the following conditions are met:
a. The members must have exited the private area immediately upon such discovery (it is up to each forum to clearly label its private areas.)
b. The member must privately inform his team leader of the inccident, the team leader must put the member in contact with one of the game staff and the member must give the game staff details about the incident (how it happened, how much was seen, etc.) The game staff will then inform the violated team of its security problem and which team violated their security and then determine what action if any should be taken against the member. Action to be taken should not exceed a 50-turn exclusion of the member from the game.

0.4.2 - Intentional Espionage

Description: Any out-of-game espionage in any form is strictly prohibited.

Definition: Trying to hack the secure team forum(s), continuously logging team chat channels, inserting moles in an opponent's team, hacking screenshots or save game upload location, or any other action considered espionage as determined by the game staff

Verdict: Doing any of the above as determined by the game staff is a violation of this rule.

Punishment Level: Red (Ejection)

These above definitions are for espionage against another team ...

I think what you want is a list of internal acts which require disiplinary action ...

I personally think that this can only happen if the non-designated people post on the UN thread ... so maybe have a rule that makes this a bad thing to do ...

:hammer: and if anyone is found guilty of this Act, then we start a trial-thread for discussion of the reason, the information relayed, in fact any relevant background ... this would then be followed by a Trial of Guilt (poll)

The sentence would then depend on the information let slip and the reasons for it ... be it for melicious reasons  or just being a bit of a duffa and trying to be humourous  ...

EDIT -
The Fines/Actions could be ...
> exclusion from voting for X terms ...
> loss of public position ...
> banning from holding a public position for X terms ...
> lowering of social status ...
> expulsion from the team (banishment) - Foreign Minister informs other teams that the player is a periah
> expulsion from the game (execution) - administrators would have to inform other teams that no contact can be made with this ghost

EDIT - If a designated office holder who is permitted to post on UN, posts detrimental information or that which their position should not allow we can always vote them out mid term ...

How will we handle contact between one of our citizens and one from another civ?

I don't think it should be banned outright, but at the same time I don't think anyone should talk about the internal events of our civ. Are PMs not permitted? Obviously they are not permitted before in-game contact, but what about after?

all contact should go through the respective abassadors

no pm between teams i doubt someone would give away any info something could slip
making contact completely band however would be to strict and to confined
i say ban pm's between teams or watch
after in-game contact all posts from our citizens to other teams should be restricted
not completely but atleast give a number of posts that can be allowed

@Grimes ... what do you mean?

In my earlier post I was trying to examine the consequences of one of us talking with a lowly citizen of Persian, Celtic, or Iroquios persuasion. Personally, I don't really think it'll be an issue for me. I don't see myself pursuing PM with members of other teams.

But I imagine there are people on our team who are friends with people from other teams. I'm not suggesting that those contacts should be banned, but I do think we need to be clear about what is allowed. In general, I think topics concerning this game should be avoided.

Ybbor:
all contact should go through the respective abassadors

I think this is a smart way to go.

Oh I understand now Grimsey ... out of game contact should be allowed ... I myself play other games with these people and have contact in other unrelated threads ... as long as nothing specific to Team MIA is discussed then that is fine ...

The nominee then must accept the nomination
EDIT: sorry - wrong paste!

as long as nothing specific to Team MIA is discussed then that is fine ...

and if anything regarding this game comes up the citizen should kindly refer the person to our UN rep or Foreign Minister.
