Is there a way that you can start a game where you have your own personal contenient big or small?

Select the archipelago option with least land mass and you should get one to yourself most of the time.

Make yourself more than 100 custom maps and pull them at random. By the time you see one, you will have forgotten what's in it. Most of the time. Or maybe it's just us old folks that forget.

I used to go mad when I was exploring and then I found there was another civ in a continent I already considered as MY propierty
