I noticed another thread asking for some cooking suggestions, and I thought it would be nice to get a thread going to which everybody could contribute their favorite recipe. Admittedly, this is somewhat selfish, as I would like to get some more recipes for myself, but I also want to see what kind of recipes we can all come up with. Here goes.

Mexican Flank Steak

1 Flank Steak (about 1 1/2 lbs)
1/4 cup olive oil
2 Tablespoons wine or cider vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon red pepper seasoning
1 teaspoon leaf oregano, crumbled
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 garlic clove, minced

Place steak in a large shallow dish. Mix all remaining ingredients in a cup, then pour over the steak. Let it stand for at least 2 hours. Place steak on hot grill, about 3 inches above the coals. Grill, brushing several times with marinade from dish, giving about 4 minutes for each side or until steak is done to taste. Carve diagonally in thin slices to serve.

I'll add some more recipes if other start to contribute. If the thread doesn't fly, oh well. :)

One of the recipes I've been working on this football season:

Fried Chicken Wings

Ingredients:
Chicken Wings
Buttermilk
oil
flour
sauce of your choice

Preparation:
Seperate wing parts. Put the chicken wings in an airtight container. Add buttermilk, ensuring all chicken parts are covered. Refridgerate 2 to 24 hours, depending on choice and time available. Stir/shake chicken occasionally to make sure all chicken gets covered.

Cooking:
Heat oil to 350°. While oil is heating, take first batch of chicken wings and place in a sieve/collander to allow excess buttermilk to drip off. If you want a thicker coating, leave more buttermilk on. When buttermilk has drained to desired thickness, dredge in flour. Regular flour works best, but use whatever you like. Add chicken wings to oil. Cook until wings are a medium to dark brown color, or until a thermometer says their done. Cover with sauce of your choice, and serve. Feeds as many as you've made enough for. ;)

This is a pretty good base wing recipe. You can use this for buffalo wings, honey bbq wings, or just plain chicken for dinner. I use this for making the wings, as we do dinner chicken a bit different.

Every Californian should know a good salsa recipe.

Code:
       1 Large Onion
       8 Tomatoes
1/2 Bunch of Cilantro (just leaves)
      10 Serrano/Jalapeno peppers
            Juice of 1 Lime
            Juice of 1 Lemon
       2 tb Vinegar
       1 ts Salt
       1 ts Cayenne Pepper
       1 ts Garlic salt
       1 ts Oregano

Dice onions, tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro as small as possible. Combine the rest of the ingredients.

1. Make some Kraft Macaroni and Cheese

2. Throw in a can of Hormel Chili

Thats it.

This is easy Bachelor food, but good enough to serve to a date.

Take a can of Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Celery soup, 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter and mix it with 1 cup uncooked white rice. Take a baking dish, spread or spray it with oil, then spread the soup and rice glop evenly on the bottom and set aside.

Turn the oven on to 350. Next brown cut up chicken or pork steaks while bringing about a quart of water to boil. Remove the meat from the frypan and season with salf and pepper. If chicken also season with poultry seasoning. Pour in 3 cups boiling water, scraping the drippings off into the hot water. Place the meat on top of rice mixture then pour the hot water over everything and put into the preheated oven. Bake about 45 minutes.
