I know the editor has a coordinate system to identify each tile onthe map. But it would be really handy to be able to see coordinates in the game while you are playing. (Especially when you doing "Quick Start Challenge" logs.) Maybe this could be listed in the terrain info screen. Maybe it should be optional since it might interfere with the general "feel" of the game.

I looked, but haven't seen the idea anywhere here. If it is, point me to the discussion, and delete this thread.

We chatted about this in the 'dividing up unsettled territory' thread (at least in terms of each tile having a longitude*latitude) but no biggie, I think it merits further discussion anyways...

CIV2 allowed you read the map co-ord with a right click dual pointer function.

I don't see why CIV4 could not give a little menu for each map square too.

:)

You don,t have do change this aspect a lot, just put it below the tile infos, and there is no problem. I would this, but not seen on every single tile, always, it would be real.ly annoying.

That would also be a nice tool for Diplomacy, especially on when talking to AIs. Imagine the type of discussions you could do with the AI or a player when you could them about a specific square.

With tile claiming, you could just say :
world map, tiles 33,64, 33,65, 33,66, 1 gpt and 100 gold for philosophy and wines
Would add a lot to diplomacy and trade.

Here's another Idea:
In Diplomacy, click on trade maps of regions.
This would take you to a blown up map of The world.
You would then highlight the section of the map you were interested in.
