Corporations?

I had oil, so in BTW i woulda been able to build railroads :)

edit: funny thing was that shaka was very close to me, had 3 extra resources but still wouldn't trade it with me even though I had extra luxuries/food. I was sad cuz i knew deep down he woulda given it for 1 banana to an AI he didn't even like [I got some from him later :P]
Yeah I got the same problem, it seems AI will only trade oil for another strategic resource.

The above makes absolute sense to me. Strategic resources should only be traded for other strategic resources, unless you are desperate for luxes.

Sorry to cut short your plans for capitalistic empires guys, but gifting an executive to another civ is not possible :o

Doesn't make my plans untenable, just a little more challenging.

Well, I for one would advocate different trading priorities for each AI according to his personality :)

They don't have different priorities, and you're right that it might be a good idea if they did, but different leaders *do* treat resource trades slightly differently. They all have different pleasedness levels (or whatever the correct phrase is) for when they'll agree to trade different types of resources. Most will trade health resources with you if they're annoyed or cautious, but won't trade strategic resources unless they're pleased or friendly. In fact, I don't think Tokugawa ever trades strategic resources at all. Quite a few of them have a lower threshold for health resource trading than for happiness resource trading, even though they usually consider them to be equal in value.

But you're right, it'd be good if their personalities also determined which resources they'd prefer to receive in trades.

Down with corporations and their useless maintenance payments! :D

Holy crap dudes, for every single corp i spread in my civ now I loose 220 gold per turn  NOT WORTH IT, well, unless u are ready to pay for the 37

points

It is some kind of
culture.gif
bomb, but it cost a lot  And the worst thing: you cant get rid of it even if u want to.

I'm not really sure if I would like to send a corporation to my "enemies" or my vasals :mischief: But, the HQ is a must! :)

Overall I'm kinda dissapointed that you loose money while spreading your own business (worldwonder) within your own borders. Thats is confusing too

in which condition of game (speed, difficulty, civics)?
because in my games (normal speed, warchief) it cost something like 10 to 20
before being reduced by civic and courthouse to 3 to 8
