I just bought Civ4 today after weeks of playing with the demo (Which ran flawlessly), and upon installation and patching, I went to play it and it was fine for a few minutes, then I noticed strange artificating in some areas (Texture artifacts, not video card rendering) so I decided to restart the PC. Upon rebooting, Windows automatically tried to run Disk Check, I skipped it and then tried to play Civ4 again but it said certain data files were corrupt or unreadable. I couldn't even unistall it, so I had to reboot again and let Disk Check remove all the corrupt files, then I went ahead and deleted the application folder. I did all of this SEVERAL times just to see if I had a bad install but each time gave me troubles.

So WTH is with this crap?
