Russia is a fine Civ. Very complete and powerfull.
I've tried it and it rocks. But I continued my "research".
Saxony, I've never tried. I'll now that you mentioned it.
The problem is that I'll miss that whity things with a strabge helm.
Just to justify myself about my strat...
I've come to think that different Civ's require completelly diferent peasent-strats.
For an example, Polish require a lots of food in 17th century and a lot of gold to 18th. Much more than say, Algeria, who don't use that much gold...
So, after some tryings (Algeria, Turkey, Ukraine, Portugal, England, France, Russia) and after have played against all of them I stick in Polish, 'cause of pikes, 18th granadiers and CAVALRY.
In fact, the first time I play against SoRHunter, I waited for his attack, I attracted him to my "alone" pikes and then charge from the rear with cavalry against his archers. The victory was so big that I then attack his village and in a question of minutes the game was won
I'll try that options for a change...
