I started Cotm20 after submitting Gotm50 on Jan 31st...
After QSC I looked on submission date...
Yesterday I took a (hopeless) try to finish in time but the lack of horses didn't speed it up.
The early arctic town (+3 beakers for ~3500 years) and settler near dyes were nice as those three techs from huts. 3 leaders in the first ~5 Elite wins also, capturing Pyramides in Tenochtitlan ~1000 BC would have contributed to a nice finishing date I guess - but so much honor, so little time...
Anyway, nice idea, a map without horses. Would have enjoyed it

I quit this one when I saw the lack of horses as well. It would take too much boredom to coordinate galley chains and battle strategies with only MDI and do well on this map.
As i said i had some serious competition in this game and had to do all i could to speed things up

Lincoln looked and the calendar and wondered just how long to stay on this planet. Both diplomacy & space ship options were still available to him as was the warrior options. But this land seemed like a vacation resort compared to the Colonial Headquarters Housing, so he decided to stay as long as possible. To do this he decided step one would be to isolate the other tribes on the little islands and expand to the limit and then push the population to the limit. He also decided to complete the original requirement of not keeping any conquered city unless it contained a wonder.
Just barely into this chapter of history the brave Aztec chief Montezuma was relegated to the history books in 1100 AD. Isabella barely out lasted the Aztecs as her ill-fated war with America had begun her slide to posterity as Babylon captured her last city in 1300 AD. Meanwhile America was busy adding wonders to Abe’s collection. Copernicus’, Newton & The Pentagon were all added before Spain was eliminated. By now America was clearly the leader in all categories that mattered. Abe even felt a small bit of pleasure as he rebuffed a Celtic demand for furs. Just after the completion of Magellan’s Voyage, America began hacking away at the Celtic nation. With three Celtic cites in ashes, the English queen landed a trio of longbows next to Boston. Abe’s demand that she remove them triggered an English declaration of War. A quick exchange of luxuries with Japan & Babylon gained America alliances that would keep England busy while America continued absorbing Celtic lands.
With Universal Suffrage and the Military Academy now completed, Abe decided that he’d like to wait on taking out the rest of the Celts until tanks were available, so peace was signed for a Celtic city. In 1470 AD JS Bach was completed in Washington and Motorized Transportation was discovered and the American core went to work building tanks. As the American tank count grew, American Cavalry began razing English cities until London was captured in 1600 AD and the final city of England was the island of Dover. Peace with England netted a large cash reward and was the first AI to be sent to exile. With the completion of Wall Street in 1535 AD and the discovery of Flight and entry to the Modern Era, America was the richest nation and nearly a full age ahead on technology.
Now it was time for Babylon to disappear and the American tanks began razing Babylon cities until after the capture of Babylon and the razing of Nippur in 1695 AD, Hammurabi was gone. Also at this time Kansas City completed the Hoover Dam and Washington completed the Theory of Evolution netting Synthetic Fibers & Fission. With the discovery of Rocketry, a force of nearly 50 Modern Armor units took the lead of the American Army. It was now time for the Celts to go. The American Armor began rolling in 1715 AD. Japan were next to feel the wrath in 1725 AD as Tokugawa demanded Industrialization and declared on America when rebuffed. As Washington completed the SETI Program the first of 25 Modern Armor landed in Japan and began razing Japanese cities. While advancement against Japan was slow due to the terrain (jungle, mountains and woods), the Celts had no such luck and with the fall of Entremont in 1758 AD, the Celts were gone. American research continued to outpace the rest of the world with Space Flight & Miniaturization now known.
At this point Rome show their true colors and signed peace with Japan and attacked America. Caesar had waited to long and the newly landed Modern Armor from the Celtic lands turned on Rome until finally in 1792 AD both Japan & Rome had been reduced to single cities on the small SW island. With all of the AI neatly tucked away and the American Nation at the edge of domination, Abe began a population growth program. With the Apollo Program, United Nations and Manhattan Project completed another set of wonders were added to Abe’s trophy shelf. America had now completed all required technologies and returned to researching optional technologies beginning the Economics & Sanitation. Adam Smith’s Trading Post, Shakespeare’s Theater and Battlefield Medicine soon were completed. Next up was Space Ship parts as Abe decided to build 9 of 10 just in case his return ship was delayed.
With the completion of Cure for Cancer, Longevity and Intelligence Agency only three wonders were left for Abe to collect. In 1900 AD, Abe began retiring unneeded troops beginning with a Swordsman Army, a Crusader Army and 2 Tank Armies. Eventually the only remaining troops would be the 16 Modern Armor Armies that patrolled the American borders and the American Air Force (12 Stealth Bombers & 12 F-15) that was given the job of decimating Barbarian Villages (talk about overkill). It was in 1900 AD that Abe ordered a census of guest workers and the final tally was 247 workers. In 1922 AD the 9th (and final) piece was added to Space Ship and when Philadelphia completed the SDI, Abe’s wonder collection was nearly complete. In 1974 AD the final defined tech was discovered and the full national income was dedicated to improving the lifestyle of the American populace.
All remained calm and in 2046 AD America completed the Internet and Abe’s wonder collection was complete. That same year Future Tech 5 was discovered. By now both Japan and Rome had begun resettling their original lands and the once Celtic cities had been gifted to England.
Abe’s stay ended quietly in 2050 AD with a Histograpic Victory.
