OK, a Middle Ages spoiler this time around, because many players will be just putting their mark on the main land mass about this time. So, how did you 'handle' the main landmass? Did any AI civs grow big enough to challenge you, and what did you do in response? Did your Conquistador unit play any part in the game? How did you grow/develop and what was your status/plans as you left the Middle Ages?

Entered the IA a little while ago, but forgot to do this. Middle Ages were pretty boring. Managed to grab three cities on the continent before the AI filled it up, one of which was the delicious fish-cow site.

Egypt is the clear runaway, I have no idea why. They dramatically out-expanded their neighbours, and are actually keeping pace with me tech-wise. Evidently, that will change going into the AI given all the useless optionals that they will research.

AI dogpile came down hard on Babylon courtesy of Persia and Mongolia, and I managed to slip in and grab three cities with a force of two MIs, a knight and a horseman.

In the grand scheme of things, I'll probably have to do a very late domination, or diplomatic if I want a respectable time. Didn't get enough continental land to justify a palace jump, so I'm stuck with my core on the starting island, which is insufficient for space race. Either way, I think a showdown with Egypt is inevitable at this point, regardless of my winning strategy. How I fare in it will determine the course of the game for me.
