Is there a way to identify and erradicate a spy from your CIV after another CIV has placed it there? It seems reasonable that you could spend money trying to eliminate a spy the same way you can spend money to place a spy.

Mostly it is a concern for multi-player...if another human successfully plants a spy...yikes.

Honestly...I don't use spies much at all, so there may be a way to do this that I don't know about. I looked around and couldn't find any reference to it though. Thanks!

SirJethro: There's a mission called "expose enemy spy". perform it and the enemy spy will be executed :goodjob:

Look out though! if the civ hasn't got a spy in your capital, the mission will fail and YOUR soy will be killed!!

So let's say Russia put's a spy in my CIV (America)....do I have to plant a spy in Russia BEFORE I can expose a spy in my own CIV? I would like to be able to perform counter espianage without performing offensive espianage in some cases. I shouldn't need a spy oversees to expose one domestically (but it would probably increase the chance of success).

Have you ever succeeded in exposing enemy agent? For me it's only an efficient way to provoke enemy if I want war :( Is there some other way to check if you have a mole in your capital? It seems that enemy civs don't conduct any espionage missions at all (only exception I know of is planting spies). I didn't modify espionage missions cost though, so maybe AIs see them as non cost-effective... Anyway, there is no sign of enemy spy activity. If I want to be sure, I "expose"... and the war begins :crazyeye:

I see the AI fail espinage alot, it depended if tehy have alot of money. And I also have exposed their spy though it is not worth it. Their espionage doesn't effect me enough to make me care if they have a spy. But in multi player expsonig enemies spies will be important.

Gen: Yes, I have :goodjob: You know civ X has a spy on your capitol when you are at war with someone and, for instance, a city of you suffers from propaganda, or gets its production sabotaged.

The attached screenshot is a compilation of espionage pop-ups I got in a game not too long ago -- I had a full scale cold war (sometimes hot!) going, and though I never chose to spend money on "expose enemy spy," I seemed to be catching them pretty regularly - my spy was also exposed once, during peacetime of all times!

I have only one problem with the way to capture a spy, you have to have a spy yourself...
