Extremely normal.
I was trying to determine the probability for each ability score in D&D 3.5 PHB rules.
I get 1296 (i.e. 6^4) for the number of elements in the sample space, but whenever I try to count the number of elements in the individual events (get a score of 3, get a score of 18, etc.), they total up to a larger number. I've got no idea what I'm doing wrong.
