Crash bug caused by corrupt game state stored in save file?

I was playing Civ V (late) last night. It was turn 470. I had just polished off the Egyptians, finished up my turn, and hit the "Next Turn" button. The game almost immediately crashed to desktop. I didn't feel like dealing with it last night, so I just turned off the PC and went to bed.

Just now, I loaded the last autosave (which happened to be from the beginning of turn 470), conquered the Egyptians again, and upon hitting "Next Turn", my game immediately crashed to desktop again. So there's no way I can get past the end of this turn. There's something corrupt in the game state that has gone into the save file that is causing a crash at the end of the turn. It really sucks.

Fortunately, I was hedging against my opponents, and I actually completed the entire spaceship before embarking on my current romp of global conquest. I have the final spaceship part sitting on my capital ready to embark and win the game, which I just did. So I was at least able to win the game, but I wanted to go beyond turn 470 and conquer the whole world darnnit! This was my first Modern Era war and I don't get to see it through to its completion.

Hopefully this will be addressed in the patch. But it doesn't help this game, which is done now.

It is frustrating since almost every game I start now, and save, crashes when I try to resume it. Supposedly the crash at reload save bug is being addressed in the patch which is going to come out sometime in the (hopefully) not too distant future.
