Crash on "enter"

Yeah, so it crashes on any entry of a button.

I have had all the typical problems to get it going but finally the game runs fine on my machine, right up until gameplay.

Once I load up a game and make the first few moves and get ready to end my turn or build a city the game quits as soon as I do. Straight back to desktop, no error messages. Other than that it works fine.

Ok I am having a strange problem to, My tutorial runs fine and I can play it. Everything works like it should graphics, sound the whole nine yards. When I go to Single Player mode and customize or just choose some options and then tell it to play, it goes to the loading screen and it says DONE then it crashes back to windows and thats it. It shuts down completely....I am getting real ticked off I hope someone can tell me how to fix this. I have not downloaded the patch because I am on dial up and I only have a 21 baud connection. So PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!
