Crashing games, Civilization3x.exe error

In my last few games while playing I get this Civ3x.exe error and the game crashes. It happens at the exact same point no matter what I do differently and regardless of how many times I restart the game. Can anyone help or have an idea? Thanks.

You are playing a mod, so I would suggest that there is something about the "modern Farm" that has not been set-up correctly. Check the thread that you downloaded the mod from to see if this has been raised before - it might be something like a pediaicons.txt problem.

i have the same problem (not playing a mod just civ3 (vanilla) and the patch)
in 1350 i get nationalism and a free tech and when i check the next tech to research i get that error to
tryed to reload the game but it allways does it over

Do you get any error messages, or just the fault message like is shown in the top screenshot? You don't get a message like "missing entry in pediaicons.txt: ERA_SPLASH" by any chance?

nope the same identical error message....
maybe i should just reinstall and use the 1.21 patch
thats the second game i wont finish in a few days.....
oh well hehe

You said in another thread in this forum you are using 1.29f (for regular civ without expansions). 1.21 and 1.27 are for Play the World (the first expansion). So, if a mod is made for 1.21, and you only have regular civ, it won't work. Maybe that's the problem? And which mod is this/where did you get it from?

found the solution...i had a mod installed before (the facsist mod)
and i removed it only by uninstall,since the uninstall leaves alot on the drive i started over but manually removed all the stuff left and defragged
after reinstalling i recopyed my saves and all went well
