The game is now full.

The world will be completely random, with Barbarians set to Roaming.

i will join. im ready to completely whoop the ai's ass!!!!!! what are the game specifics?

You mean as in what the world will be like? It's random, but if you mean any house rules, I don't really have any. We just win! :)

Hell, why not?
I'm in. 1.21f, right?

But of course! :goodjob:

Without much furthur ado, I shall start the game. The game is still open, though, so anyone who wants to join can.

Add me.

Welcome, everyone, welcome! :D Hail the Crazy Celts, who shall dominate the world and withstand the Test of Time!

Let us begin....

4000 BC: Not a bad start. We have a coastal space, with a mountain NE, and
furs and cattle near us. With forest to our left, I found Entremont. The people appear
satisfied with their furs. I send the Worker SW to connect the cattle.

3950 BC: Sid wants an assignment. It looks like we might be on an island, so I set it
to Map-Making as a goal. Jiggling with the slider does nothing, so I set back for some cash.

3900 BC: Building.

3850 BC: Worker finishes part of the road.

3800 BC: Worker moves to cattle.

3750 BC: He begins road-building.

3700 BC: Building.

3650 BC: Cattle is connected to Entremont.

3600 BC: Worker is sent to mountain to mine.

3550 BC: Worker begins mine.

3500 BC: Cultural influence expands! Warrior is built to explore the north.
Mmm...goody hut...

3450 BC: Warrior moves north.

3400 BC: We have poppage as our hero gets the goody hut. Mwahaha, POTTERY!

3350 BC: Entremont builds another Warrior to explore the south.

3300 BC: Exploring.

3250 BC: Exploring.

3200 BC: Southern Warrior comes to a dead end. :( It appears we have lots of jungle
to the north...

3150 BC: S. Warrior is sent back to town. N. Warrior continues to explore.

3100 BC: Archer is built. Still no results with the science slider, so I leave it.

3050 BC: Warrior fortifies in Entremont. The Exploring One finds a goody hut! He moves east.

3000 BC: "The friendly Goth tribe gave us maps of their region." Well, what do you know, blue borders...

Even though there's a lotta jungle to the north, I think we have a good start here. Here's the save:

Also a screen, if you so desire.

Right then, bewareofgnomes, you're up!

My thoughts:
Decent start, early lux and cattle is nice :).
We have too much defense in Entremont, we should be out there exploring and making contacts! Also, we should change archer-->granary so we can pump settlers and workers quickly. With all this jungle and a non-industrious civ, we will need HORDES of workers to make it into profitable land.
For the first settler we make, he should go on the jungle 1 tile NE of the hill where the northern river meets the sea. Good defense, gold, and a nice mix of terrain. Plus we reclaim a jungle tile :).
Go for it bewareofgnomes!

It's 1.21f. :(

I don't understand, though; would it be possible to reinstall and download the patch????

It is possible to uninstall the patch and reinstall it for different SGs. If I am correct, running the patcher for that patch uninstalls it once it's installed. Dunno-never tried.

umm sorry, but im going to have to skip this time around. i have some cd problems that will be cleared up by friday. sorry i didnt tell u this before, but i didnt realise that u were gonna start so soon.

OK, then I got it. Will play and post tomorrow.

am i mistaken, or is it just absolutely pointless to mine mountains this early in despotism. food is what we need now, not shields. we should have mined the cattle first! Lord MOngoose, could you please do us a favor and stop mining the mountain. sorry to sound harsh, but i no from exerience, mining a mountain this early hinders our expansion greatly.

I didn't choose to mine the mountain (haven't played yet), but thanks for catching it for me.

oh and btw, we should aim dor those dyes, as they are close to america's borders. (im pretty sure its america)

Whoops. *furiously takes notes concerning mining*

Do you think it was all right to research Map-Making???
