create new unit domain

Is it really not possible to create new domains, i want more specialised buildings for units, but according to civwiki.

DomainInfos
DomainInfos contain an entry for each type of movement domain a unit can belong to. In Civ4 i.e. Sea, Air, Land or Immobile.

<Type>: Label used to refer to this Domain type.
<Description>: Refers to the entry in CIV4GameTextInfos_Objects.xml that contains the in-game name of this Domain type.
Note: It is currently not possible to add new Domains, and existing ones should not be removed, just ignored if not desirable.

So i cant create a domain just for archers?? is there a workaround to this??

You can create new domains but you wouldn't be able to do anything with them or you'll get errors. They are linked to Hardcoded information so untill the SDK comes out i don't think they can be modified

so is there some other tag i can associate with groups of units. i.e archers,longbows,crossbows could be 1 group. Thus allowing individual buildings to affect individual units.

Try looking at unit classes - ie, Melee, Archer, Mounted, etc.

LOL omg im such a noob, i had originally even tried renaming the domains to, drumroll, melee, archer and mounted
