Creating a game set-up option for number of religions/great prophets?

Hi all,

Can anyone help me do this? Literally no idea where to start. Background: I am making a large mod that adds enough beliefs to enable 16 religions instead of 7 per game.

I'd like to give mod users the choice of how many religions they want on the map, but I have no idea how I'd create a slide/option for this. If someone can point me in the right direction, or code it for me, I will give you full credit as co-creator and be eternally grateful.
