Custom games?

How many of you play custom games (edited rules, etc) rather than just with the standard options?

I do, myself. A change I make is to make gold a luxury resource, not just a "bonus" -- it seems logical enough (though the only problem is that it shows up as a blank space as opposed to the other luxury icons in my city view)

Also, I've made hills be able to be irrigated, and with an extra food point.

I included new governments - nationalism (with nationalism), centralism (with military tradition), and imperialism (with chivalry)

Also, strategic resources aren't depleted.
 
I tried adding one additional luxury and Civ3 always crash whenever I try to enter city view when I get that 9th luxury (using version 1.16f). Thanks to crashguard I manage to continue after every crash :cool:

And I am sure its due to the 9th luxury as Civ3 do not crash when I view another Civ'3 city using spy if that Civ do not have the 9th luxury. Also, its seems that Civ3 do not know how to calculate the happiness factor with the 9th luxury with a market place :(

No such issue with strategic resources though. I have added 5 so far and no problem what so ever ;)

Unless you are telling me that changing a current item into the 9th luxury is alright but adding a new one is not :confused:

Also, did Civ3 correctly calculated the multiplyer effect for the 9th luxury (in your case, gold)? If so, then I will do some tweak with my own mod ;)
