Coolio about the variant rules:
Is tech more important than cash? i.e. do we pour all our ill-gotten gold into science?
And the rules about wars and units. When do we decide to leave them alone and assume they're dieing? When they're down to one city or what? Do we never ever make new units after the first war declared? What about workers, settlers and ICBMs?

the fricken idiots rule: gotta try and stay ahead in techs the whole time though. that means keeping tech slider above 70% at all times (thats a new rule). NO trading techs to AI for cash. only tech for tech trades.
when at war with a nation you can only build units before the war and kill them with only those units. if you run out, make peace then make more units!
all units are fair game.

The idea is you give the AI 900 gpt even though you don't have the money. This gives them lots of cash but causes you to lose a building each turn (so you don't want to use it too early on or you have no buildings left). You then trade them false gpt for the cash they accumulate. Essentially, you are making money out of thin air.
