There is already a post that kinda remarks Cyrus's traits called mass production of GG's, I had thought of this strat before and I have also figured out multiple other great uses for him.

For example since his traits dont really favor one or other economy he can be very flexible, if in my starting location there are a lot of jewelry/plantation resources and no stone I go CE in the other hand if there are plenty of food resources and stone I go full SE. Charismatic can be pretty useful with either, allowing you to work more cottages or having extra specialists on a city due to the added hapiness.

Personally I like running an SE with him the most since I will usually war a lot and I dont want to cry over pillaged towns all the time, which was a big negative with Huayna Capac who I used to play with the most thus my screen name.

Another big plus with Cyrus is that the wonders you will value the most are the ones no one else goes after ie. Stonehenge, GW, Chichen Itza, The Statue of Zeus. If I have stone I will go after all of these since they all aid my strat greatly.

On my current game, on Prince I got stone, horses and lots of seafood on the BFC, I got lucky and popped 3 techs from goodie huts, Archery, AH and Mining, researched Fishing, the Wheel, BW for chopping, Mysticism (built Stonehenge for the free Monuments, which adds hapiness besides culture as a Charismatic leader), Masonry (Built the Pyramids for Representation, and the GW for a total of +200% Great Generals), Polytheism, Monotheism (for Organized Religion), Priesthood (for the Oracle).

I got a little busy with all the wonder spamming and didnt expand in time, I was north east near the tundra and other than my capital all I got was a coast city with copper and fish and another city with cow and corn I think, I wanted a spot that had marble and hatty took it, my neighbors Hatty and Charlemagne had efectively land locked me.

I took the time to build 6 immortals and after getting Writng and Alphabet I went for Math for the Cats, I couldnt take Hattys cities without these because of her Creative Trait which had raised the defenses in her cities to 40%!!! I built 4 Cats and went after her, she had little defenses and after the bombardment everything went easy I took the marble city I wanted, beelined for Music and blew a culture bomb with the GA.

I decided I would take advantage of this war and milk XPs and GGs so I shifted to passive defense and counter attacks all within my borders, her War Chariots where a Pillaging threat and thats why I dont like cottages any more.

In the meanwhile I had used the Oracle for Code of Laws, my early wonders paid off with a Great Prophet, I funded Confucianism and shrined it, I was making quite some cash running at a 100% science, I also built the Parthenon and the Great Library, I was running 2 scientists in my capital and got a GS, built an academy, a library and all of a sudden I was leading the world in tech, when Erodotus listed the most advanced civilizations I was second, while waging war and still making a profit.

My capital was a science, cash and production monster with 12 pop in 300 BC I took another of Hattys citys which had Ivory, I can only imagine, losing a happy resource while I win it, I use the Ivory for the Satue of Zeus, and I got a GE which I used to hurry Notredame, so while her citizens where rioting due to the WW I was getting a we love the despot day!!! Not to mention 4 GGs all settled and draining her economy death.

When she was far behind enough I took her out, and followed the same process with Charlemagne, a long war that wore him down while I kept teching and building, when he was weak enough to stop attacking, I went for him, did the same with Wang Kon again and the continent was mine, while none of my victims ever expected anything and had >+7 relationd due to mine being the only religion on the continent.

I havent gotten any further.

I just love how the UB also works well with Charismatic, giving you a net improvement in the population you can have, I mean what use is the free health with out hapiness?

Try this out it works charms.

The strat simply is about the following, running an SE with the Pyramids, Parthenon and GL, use Stonehenge and the GW to enhance Cyrus's traits, and then war all game until draining a civs economy, take it out, and repeat with the next.
