how come d3dx9_26.dll missing? can anyone help?

It should have installed from the CD/DVD. If not, try downloading the December release of DirectX from the Microsoft website. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FA-0E3C-4837-AFC0-6C67DCAA54BF&displaylang=en
Hopefully, it will install everything needed.

Reinstall Civ4, and make sure that when it ask if you want to install DirectX, you click "yes".

The December release of DirectX should fix all issues for all I know. Since it incorporates all backwards dlls.
