I have just loaded Civ IV Vanilla onto my wife's PC as my laptop finally gave up the ghost this morning (hard-drive totally fried and unrecoverable). I have updated the Game to the latest patch 1.74.
On trying to open the game I have an error message that reads: "This app' failed to start because D3DX9_32.dll was not found." I have looked in the c:\windows\system32 folder and cannot find this driver. I do however see a driver labeled - D3DX9_26.dll
Any suggestions?
