dead nation has a score ?

I've got a situation where I've killed a nation but they still have a score.

The game was originally set up for a culture win (no barbarians, no space, no domination, and no time limit). But I liked the map so I’ve played again.

The last Inca city had its last defender killed by a gunship – alas, I misjudged the movement of my tanks, and no one could move in.

So next turn arrives, the Inca doesn’t have any defenders, and I moved in a tank. The Inca score remained – which would imply that I’ve missed a city. But I can’t find it.

I also can’t talk to the Inca nation, I can’t see them on the diplomacy screen, and the victory screen only has the 2 nations that I expect to see as rival. I'm thinking that the score is wrong.

So .. how come a dead nation has a score ?

Provided the upload worked, its a copy of the quicksave showing the Inca with a score.

As far as I know, a dead society doesn't get new points added to the score, but they keep the score they have at the moment they are killed.

I worry when I query someone with your number of posts, but ... don't dead nations get a score of 0 ? you can see that with the other two deadies.

I'm thinking its the rare example of taking out the defender with a gunship, then moving in next turn without having to attack. Maybe not destroying any unit didn't trigger the code to say that the nation is now dead ? Hence the posting into the bug forum.

Another possible reason is that Inca changed his civil recently (when he was down to a few cities he jumped to bureaucracy). He MAY have been in disorder.

late note ... I've now played a few more turns (as I get my troops ready to whack the romans), and I notice that the score is now zero. The problem fixed itset up. But feel free to look at the save game.

thanks

if u didnt fight the turn u killed a civ, their score is kept on the turn, but next turn, it will be zero.

i just culture flipped 2 civ's only city, and their civ is gone, but they gets score for that turn
